Rotating Cuff Problem
Rotator cuff repair
Rotator cuff repair is a surgery conducted to correct a torn tendon in the shoulder. When the group of muscles forming a cuff on the shoulder joint are torn or damaged due to excessive use or injury it might require a surgery. During the surgery damaged tissue and spurs are removed using an arthroscope. The tendons are attached to the bone and small suture anchors are used to hold it in place. These anchors are usually made of metal or dissolvable material. Surgery is considered as an option only when there is significant and complete rotator cuff tear. Incomplete small tears usually can be managed conservatively.
